Examining the connector for the ECM I wondered whether I should use dielectric grease on it at time of assembly. Do you use dielectric grease on these connectors, and on other engine related connectors?
Dielectric grease should not be applied to the actual electrical connections where conductivity is desired, it is an insulator and arc preventer. It works great between spark plug boots and the ceramic insulator of the plug to prevent sticking. _____
CRC Food Grade Dielectric Grease Select-A-Bead is a pressurised, non-curing silicone compound used for electrical sealing, lubricating, protecting and insulating. CRC Food Grade Dielectric Grease Select-A-Bead seals connectors exposed to the elements and maintains electrical performance during rain, fog, and salt spray.
Historic Applications of Silicone Dielectric Grease. Silicone Dielectric Grease (and lubricant) is a low viscosity grease. The normal temperature range is from around -40F up to +500F degrees. Silicone Dielectric Grease is far superior to petroleum jelly or Vaseline for preserving connections. Silicone grease has been around for a long time.
known as dielectric grease, insulating grease, or electrical insulating com-pound. Before I jump into the explana-tion of when and how to use dielectric compounds, it’s important to understand the formulation of dielectric compounds. There are dozens of companies that offer dielectric compounds, but they all need to come to a supplier like Dow

Dielectric grease keeps moisture out of electrical connections. Waytek carries dielectric grease in a 1/3 ounce and a 5 ounce tube for small to large jobs. Use dielectric grease on spark plug wires and trailer hitch connections to prevent fusing, Dielectric grease can be used on battery terminals to keep them corrosion free.
Use Dielectric Grease on the terminals inside your battery case to help keep your contacts clean and in good operating order. protects electrical connections under vibration provides corrosion protection
If you're putting silicon grease on all these bulb-to-socket contact areas, that's the wrong place to put it. I don't use any silicone grease at all, it really isn't needed on trucks and cars, IMO. The rubber seals on the socket may benefit from it, but you won't find them coming from the factory with dielectric grease on them.
Dielectric grease is often used to seal the connection between spark plugs and spark plug wires. Dielectric grease, or tune-up grease, is a silicone-based grease that repels moisture and protects electrical connections against corrosion. It is also used to keep dirt, water, and other elements out of electrical connections.

The dielectric grease I use comes out of a tube, not a spray nozzle, and is a thick, clear gel-like substance. I used it on electrical connections like headlight prongs, etc. Motorcycles vibrate and shake a lot. This tends to cause electrical connections to loosen, and once they loosen a bit you will get electrical arcing between the components.
The smart move is to use “dielectric grease” from an automotive parts store, which is readily available and cheap. An “old skool” alternative is to use petroleum jelly (commonly branded as Vaseline), which does not conduct electricity, but it does easily and cheaply protect electrical connections from exposure to air, humidity, and rain.
Should I use dielectric grease on my ground connection? submitted 2 ... For what it's worth, I often use dielectric grease around exterior electrical connections (e.g. in the engine bay) because the road salt in winter up here really eats shit up, so I think makes a small difference. Anything inside the car is generally fine though. ...

Theres a lot of chatter about the use of dielectric grease. Permatex suggests that Dielectric Tune-Up Grease is a good barrier to oxidation at plugs, connectors and terminals. There are some online comments at forums that say not to place dielectric grease on connector pins. Ive gone to the Perma...
This posting is intended to share my thoughts on electrical connections, whether it be low voltage DC, household type AC voltages, or high voltages ... One in particular was from Detroit and it specifically required the use of a dielectric grease on ALL junction connections for their most current Series 40 electronic engines.

Only complaint is the cap doesn't stay on once the tube has been opened. ... Works great on 12V connections, I use it all the time now in place of dielectric grease for wiring connectors, grounds, etc. ...
As well as from sae, nsf. And whether dielectric grease is double components adhesives, chemical auxiliary agent, or other adhesives. There are 150 dielectric grease suppliers, mainly located in Asia. The top supplying country is China (Mainland), which supply 100% of dielectric grease respectively.
